a love letter

To the man I love.

I haven’t even met you yet but I already love you.  I haven’t seen your face but I already love you.  I don’t know anything about you but I already love you.  I don’t know who you are but I already love you.  I know, this seems impossible and unrealistic.  But I love you already because I know you’re God’s best for me.  Why wouldn’t I love you? 

I’d rather love you than some random guy I just met.  I’d rather love you than a boy who doesn’t know a thing about true courtship.  I’d rather love you than anyone else, simply coz I can confidently say, “You’re the one for me.”  I love you, whoever you are and wherever you are because, soon, you’ll complete me.

I just have one question, “What took you so long, silly?  Don’t you know that you should never make a lady wait on you?  I’ve been waiting for what seems like an eternity, which I would like to spend with you.”  Oh, that was two questions.  Forgive me.  So answer me this, you owe it to me.  Did you get stuck in traffic getting here?  Did you have a detour (I hope this doesn’t mean womanizing) on your way here?  Was there a roadblock on the way?  Tell me.  Because the wait has been long, but nevertheless exciting!  I think you’re the kind of guy who likes giving surprises because you sure surprised me!  I love surprises.  How did you know?  Thank you for that.

I feel like a kid on Christmas day anxiously awaiting for the clock to strike 12 midnight so I can open up the biggest present under the Christmas tree only to find out that the present has been wrapped in a box within a box within a box within a box which seemed like it would never end thus building up the anticipation and excitement as well as thrill and finally revealing the most beautiful present ever received – Y-O-U!  You’re God’s gift to me.  I take care of all my gifts and treasure them deeply.  How much more a gift from God?  

You are not what I expected, because you exceed my expectations.  You’re more than what I bargained for – you’re YOU!  And I love every little bit of you down to the last atom.  You may not be perfect but you are perfected in Christ and perfect for me.  You must’ve been the man I’ve been dreaming about but never could clearly see because you never showed your face.  You’re what they call a dream guy.  I could talk forever saying what you are but I’d rather spend that time getting to know you more.

So, now that you’re here, what now?  A new chapter of our lives unfold as our love story has begun.  I know it will be a beautiful one – a love story we’d tell our kids and grandchildren about for generations to come.  A love story written in heaven by the world’s most famous author – God, Himself.  Our love story.  A tale of two souls entwined together as one.  A testament to God’s amazing grace.  A showcase of God’s abounding love.
